It is convinience to manage a LaTeX project with Side Panel: Structure
TexStudio
There are choices "close document" and "close all related documents". However, "close all other documents" could be very useful. This is a common function provided by IDE. For example, QT Creator has this function:

The development version already has such an entry in the context menu of the editor tab. Is that sufficient for you?
