I am new to TeXstudio and wondering why I get errors when using the "Numbered equation \begin{equation}" command from the Math menu? Its throwing errors like "bad math environment delimiter" and "Display math should end with $$".
Thanks for help.
Patrick

The command only inserts "\begin{equation} \end{equation}"
so where do you get said error ? In the latex compilation ?

Yes after clicking on Build&View. In the Editor the \end{equation} line and the one above that are highlighted red for error.
This is a latex error or more precisely a syntax error of your latex
source. You should ask at a mailing list for latex questions.
