Following Texmaker in GUI changes?

    I would like to discuss about the structure sub-window.

    I saw the layout of the texmaker (no X ;-)) structure window, and I have admit this a good idea.

    Having icons on the side gives you so much room to show all the symbols and - first of all
    - have enough space to expand the whole document hierarchy.
    The bars ors buttons which texmakerX is using, today, is such a waste of usable view area. My display has only 786 dots in vertical direction and may be one third is usable. Often I have to use the vertical scroll bar ...

    Is it possible to port such window code from the mother project Texmaker?
    Or is it much easier to write it from scratch?
    And last but not least, is it actually wanted?

      I wrote a reply and it seems to got lost in transit, so the short version:
      Yes, but it will take some time to implement it (and I want to add an option which allows to switch between new and old layout)
