I have been experiencing an issue that I may have diagnosed. I routinely use the texstudio and quickview windows open. In the quickview, I happened to have both options "scrolling follow cursor" and "cursor follows scrolling" checked under Configure menu. I don't know specifically if these should both be allowed to be enabled at the same time, but the quickview always worked as I intended for scrolling and I was happy.

In the main texstudio window, my scrolling became troublesome. The window would scroll to either an \end{align} or \end{document} on its own. If I was on the \end{document} and mousewheel scrolled up, or held the up arrow on the keyboard, it would make it to about 1/2 way up the document and then return to the \end{document}. I could hold the page up button and get an endless cycling. I eventually would click around the document and break the cycle of the problem, but usually it took several attempts. I don't know what would cause it to break the cycle, but I think it was related to the selected paragraph's background change to a light gray and after that it would work correctly for some time.

I disabled "cursor follows scrolling" but left "scrolling follows cursor" enabled and have not seen the problem continue. I never had an issue in the quickview window, just the main texstudio window.

Thanks!

Are you using the continuous pdf scrolling mode?

How does the scrolling problem start? always when opening the viewer, or just when compiling the pdf?

How exactly do you break the "cycle"? Does it stop itself after a while, if you do nothing?

Do you have an example file?

    Yes

The problem occurs when I am in the editor, and scroll the main edit window. If I use the arrows, page up, mousewheel or other cursor movement then it is likely I will hit a \begin{} or \end{} that triggers it to move the cursor drastically, and switches the text editor view to elsewhere. I think it is the matching \end{} or \begin{} to the one that was under the cursor immediately before the jump.

I don't have the problem when compiling or open the viewer. The viewer will already be open (I leave it open). Just when I am in continuous mode, scroll follows cursor, cursor follows scroll are enabled, and I try to move the cursor sometimes this occurs.

So far I have to try multiple times to break the cycle. I don't know specifically how I do it, but I believe it is when the selected-paragraph-background turns gray that the cycle has been broken. Until then the window has jumped. If I am having the problem, and try to carefully move the window view and then click where I am intending to edit, it tends not to work and the cursor goes to the wrong location.

Do you have an example file?
I'll try to post one momentarily

Example of the file that I originally had this issue with. Content removed that isn't yet published.

    Found the bug.

(It was obvious, however the continuous mode was never tested with both sync options activated)
