when editing a tex document which was written before in a different editor, the Turkish characters do not seem correctly. I changed encoding of the editor and nothing was changed. Is there eny solution for this kind of problem?
yes i have. I tried all the encodings that I know which is suitable for the language.
and also in the previos message i forgot to say my operating system, (i don't know this information will be needed). I m using windows vista ultimate x64 edition.
and I must say something more; the normal texmaker is using the encoding "system" and it works good, but in texmakerx this doesn't work.

I wrote a file which has the problem. In the texts the words "Soruları" and "eşelon" seem like "Sorularý" and "eþelon" in Texmakerx.
And I m using the same font in both Texmaker and Texmakerx.

The comments are always encoded in utf-8, so we can't really reproduce it with your comment. You could write a comment with a base64-encoded zip of the file if you're not allowed to add a file,
However, if I save the text you posted in texmaker with the encoding windows-1254, and open it in texmakerx with the default configuration, the text is changed like you described it. But, if i click on "edit\setup encoding"\"reload with" "windows-1254" or "iso-8859-9", it works. Also if I set the editor encoding to "windows-1254" or "iso-8859-9" and disable "autodetect...".

you should disable "autodetect encoding of loading file" since it can only distinguish between utf-... and ISO-8859-1.
It ignores the default codec completely ...
Could you try to open your file with the said option disabled ?

Have you tried "edit/setup encoding" and in the dialog "reload with" the apropriate encoding ?

Are you using the same font in Texmaker and TexMakerX?
could you attach a sample file (short one please) which exhibits this problem ?

ok. I disabled that option, and it works good. Thank you all.
codec selection in config menu changed to map real tmx behaviour (either autodetect beween utf8/16 and ISO 8859-1 or use given codec)
