Escape key behaviour on OSX is unconventional when searching for text.
To observe this, hit Cmd-f to open the search bar, enter some text which does not occur in the open document and hit enter to search for it.
This results in a modal yes/no dialog stating: "End of scope reached with no match. Restart from the beginning?" which is fine.
The problem however is that pressing escape should close this (implying the 'No' option), but instead closes the search bar and forces me to use the mouse and click one of the buttons, which is very annoying.

I have come across other occasions in which a similar problem occured but to me, this one happens most often by far and is really something annoying in an otherwise very nice piece of software.

Note: before pressing escape, the spacebar does exhibit expected behaviour, namely switching between the 'yes' and 'no' buttons, but it does not do so afterwards, when it just 'edits' my document.

Note: This appears to be OS specific. (works on windows)
