When you enter a letter with accent (e.g. ç ó è ã) the next letter that you type is missed, requiring that you type this letter twice. I'm using the 1.9.9a 32+64 bit version for Mac OS X 10.6.

okay, this is due to a work around because qt on mac used to give false key strokes.
I will look into it (probably next week)

It's not a Qt bug, but a QCodeEdit bug...

    i probably fixed the bug.
Some needs to compile the svn version on a 10.6. with cocoa ...(which i don't have)

sorry I didn't see the bug report before. I never observed such a problem and I use TMX with accents sometimes.
    Nothing with SVN 1058.
I cannot confirm the presence of the bug in the current svn rev because my executable crashes. I will investigate further in the coming days.

I got the same problem for a while. Here is a detailed description.

    Context:
Typing a document in French with accents. The document is encoded in UTF8.

    Reproducibility:
There is no issue at the launching of the application. But after a while the "ê" typed becomes "^e". It generally occurs the first launch after 1 hour or something like that. It comes back to normal if I quit than re-launch takemakerx. It reproduces then and I have the feeling it is quicker (around 20 minutes).

    Scope :
The problem is only causing troubles with accents that need two key typings. For those who don't have a French keyboard, in order to type "ê", I must type successively "^" and "e". This works at the beginning of the editing but after a while, it does not work anymore.

Ideas of localization of the problem :
It seems to me that it is connected to some menu item I invoke. I use \itemize quite a lot, \footnote and the sectioning environment also. At a certain point (but I did not find a way to easily reproduce it), the invocation of a command in the LaTeX menu of the GUI seems to switch mode and to stop interpreting "^" + "e" as "ê" but indeed in "^e".

    Hope that helps,
    Olivier

do you see that behaviour in tmx dialogs as well e.g. when using \input from the latex-menu and typing a filename ?

No problem on this dialog. The accents are done OK. Sorry. When it occurs again, I will have a look to see if the editor typing problem appears also in the tmx dialog.
Meanwhile, I am testing the problem (by typing ê) each time I use a menu item to be able to record exactly the manipulation that causes the bug to happen.

I got recently some issues that could be connected. At launching, when I type " it is translated by `` the first time and '' then. After a long while, it does not work anymore...

Hello I am back, ready to try to confirm the possible issue. However, it is not really precise here how to reproduce the bug...
