I recently reformatted my computer and therefore reinstalled TeXstudio. I can compile all of my documents just fine and everything seems to be running well with the new version, except for 1 thing. I can't copy and paste which has just been really frustrating because I have to type everything out into TeXstudio by hand.

*I can copy and paste things within TeXStudio. i.e. I can start a document, write out 'Hello World' and copy and paste that however many times I want.

*I can copy from TeXStudio and Paste into any other program like for instance this web browser

*But if I try pasting something into TeXStudio from any outside source, nothing happens. The only way I can paste from outside TeXStudio, is to first open Note Pad, Paste into Notepad, Save the document as a txt file, then open that txt file in TexStudio and then copy and paste from it into my desired document. It's quite a hassle

Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

    I have this same problem. However, instead of nothing happening, TeXStudio freezes and a blank error window appears (http://i.imgur.com/lvcLGK6.png). This problem is also described in this discussion.
    I've tried copying and pasting from Chrome and Notepad++, both result in the above.
    Using TXS 2.10.0 on Windows 10 Pro x64.
    Please reopen this issue.

    Edit: I've done some testing. This issue seems to only appear when pasting (text containing) a LaTex command. Pasting 'normal' text works fine.

    Edit2: Further testing shows my conclusion in my first edit is false.
    The original text I was trying to paste was "output-decimal-seperator = \text{,},", this failed. Here are some cases that I tested with crash (C) or pass (P) next to them (I pasted everything before the colon):
    text: P
    \text{: P
    \text{: P
    ab\text{: P
    a=\text{: C
    a=text: C
    a=: P
    a= : P
    a=b: C
    a= b: C
    a-b: P
    I've tried disabling all autocompletion and spellcheck options, this didn't change the behaviour.

    Thank you for the detailed tests. Still I cannot reproduce it here. It might depend on the context in which you paste. Does it happen if you close all files, open a new file and paste in there? If not, can you please provide the context into which you paste.

    The complete text which I was trying to paste is

    \sisetup{
    output-decimal-marker = \text{,},
    group-separator = \text{.},
    group-digits=integer,
    table-number-alignment = center,
    table-align-exponent = false,
    table-align-text-post = false
    }

    This crashes any existing or new document which has \usepackage{siunitx} in it. The tests in my previous post were pasted in the \sisetup{ block, so the whole document (MWE) would have been

    \documentclass{srcartcls}
    \usepackage{siunitx}

    \sisetup{
        <try to paste stuff here>

    \begin{document}

    \end{document}

    this is fixed for 2.10.2
    (which version of txs are we talking about anyway)

    Good to hear it is (going to be) fixed.
    I am (as mentioned in my first post btw ;) ) using txs 2.10.0.

    Reverting to previous status "works for me" from five days ago, because the "new" occurence was caused by a different bug in 2.10.0, which cannot be related to the original problem.

    I have TexStudio 3.0.1 on Fedora 33 installed and copy&paste does not work for me between TexStudio and many other Texteditors (but not all). It does not work with Geany, TexMaker, emacs.

    I think it is related to Fedora, however TexStudio is imho not in a sandbox-mode (e.g. snapd).

    PS: A workaround is to use the appimage: https://github.com/texstudio-org/texstudio/releases/download/3.0.1/texstudio-3.0.1-x86_64.AppImage
