On my system, right clicking into the editor does not show a context menu since version 2.8. Older versions <=2.7 seem to be fine. I have tried to reproduce the error on other computers, but it only happens on one of my system (Windows 7 SP1 64bit).

Right clicking works fine if TeXstudio does not have focus before the right click, i.e., when another application is in the foreground. It does not work, when TeXstudio is the active application. Furthermore, ctrl+right click and shift+right click works fine.

I am using the portable version. Deleting the texstudio.ini file does not resolve the issue. The problem does not depend on the current document, it even happens for an empty document.

I have tried the QT4 version and the bug is not present there. Thank you.

In the long run, the bug should still be fixed, I think. Presumably, new versions will be QT5-only at some point. Unfortunately you are correct that this problem is difficult to debug as I can't reproduce it on other machines.

as qt5 only is concerned, the bug lies probably within qt5, so we can't do anything about it except to hope that a newer version of qt5 remedies the problem.

    So, we close this bug.
