No

I have set "Auto Preview" in the "Segment Preview" options to "Never". Texstudio still triggers the automatic segment preview if I hover with the mouse over a \begin statement.

This is not the behavior I would exspect from these settings.

    this is a misunderstanding.
"Auto Preview" means, that a previewed part (chosen and executed with alt+p) is repreviewed when the marked text was changed.

Mouse hover preview over math can be disabled in Options/Advanced Editor/Show preview as tooltip on formulas in editor

    Thanks for clearing this up.

Still I think the naming of the option "Auto Preview" is misleading. May be it shoult be called "Auto Preview Update".

Personal note: I did not look for a the mouse hover option in the adv. editor options since there is a "Preview" options dialog and I kind of expected all preview options there.

So maybe the mouse hover preview option should be moved to the "Preview" dialog as it is well hidden right now in a collection of various options called "Special Options". And both mouse hover preview and segment preview are already connected anyway, since setting the "Display Mode" in "Segment Preview" affects the mouse hover preview as well.
