TexStudio it's asking me a couple of times to use the keychain when I open a project or create a new one in OS X Yosemite.
Why would it need it?

txs searches for updates over the internet (only to give a message, not to download)

Maybe that is why osx complains.

That does not seem likely to me. Why should a http request lead to an access of the key chain?

TXS does not need any authentication data. It should not try to access the key chain. Until we've found out what's going on, you should deny the request.

    • Did you download the official file from sourceforge?
    • Which version are you using?

the content of the dmg looks okay.
md5 is identical to my original.

I have never seen a question for accessing keychains either ..
