Three comments: 1) I find it a serious design flaw for any package to globally define a two-letter control sequence which is not absolutely vital for the package's functioning. Well, there seems no way to remedy that, which is especially sad because I find \textst far superior to \st because among other things, it elegantly expresses the fact that it is not \long. 2) As far as I can see, pdfslide is obsolete now and superseded by pdfscreen. Does the same error occur also with pdfscreen? 3) As neither pdfslide nor soul is vital for the functioning of TeXPower, I don't think we should make texpower.sty into a `link' between these otherwise unrelated packages. The suggestions of Melchior are all reasonable and easy realised by a user wanting to combine pdfslide with the soul-dependent features of texpower (especially the thing about loading first soul and then pdfslide, which is the proper way anyway). I'd rather add a corresponding entry in the FAQ. regards Stephan -- Stephan Lehmke Ste...@cs...
