Bug was closed as configuration problem, I can confirm that on my system mathcomp.sty does exist and works when using latex normally. usepackage{mathcomp} does not solve the issue.

OK, I made a mistake, sorry. The mathcomp package is used for \tcohm, \tcdegree, etc.
I'm certainly not a LaTeX expert, but I found that \degree, \ohm, \kilo are in the SIunits package (add \usepackage{SIunits} to your TexMaths preamble). Then \textohm comes from the textcomp package. I don't know where to find \txohm?
Anyway, this is a configuration issue : you have to indicate in the TexMaths preamble what LaTeX packages you want to use for specific symbols...
    Have a nice day,
    RB
