I’ve been using Test Runner for about a year now with a billing system implementation.  I’ve only got good things to say about this product.  It has saved me hundreds of man hours managing my test efforts over the year.  Things I used to track manually in spreadsheets are now automatically updated and available in real time.  Bravo.

Here are a couple of things I’ve come across in the last year that I think would make the product even better:

    1)    Test condition status:  Currently are static with Idle, Passed, Failed.  I’d like to see these dynamically configurable so I can include statuses like “Invalid” and “Blocked”.  Sometimes you don’t know if a test condition is Invalid until you’re actually in the test run.

    2)    Managing Multiple Test Runs as a Single Test Pass:  I have several test plans that I run together as a single test pass.  I like to track the pass, failure, idle status across these multiple runs as a single pass.  The UI and reports don’t currently lend themselves to this.  Also, I don’t like the auto-close on test passes when all conditions have been executed.  I like to do this manually for the reason I mentioned.  I manage multiple test runs as a single test pass.

    3)    Test Case To Fixed Bug Report:  We built this manually from the Bugzilla and test runner schemas.  What is really helpful is to pull a report of failed test conditions, the bugs they are associated with, and if the bugs are all resolved.  The end result is a report of failed test conditions that are ready for retesting because the bugs are now fixed.

    Again, love the product!

1 and 2 from your list are already implemented in the next version which will be avaiable at the end of May barring any major problems.

As for the third one, we would love to have such a report. Do you have a patch? if so post a bug at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org against the Testopia product and attach it and we will look at it.
