No

We have been progressively moving away from attributing authorship or editorship of the Guidelines in favour of assigning responsibility to "TEI Consortium". guidelines-en.xml has this comment, along with this docAuthor element:

<!-- Should this docAuthor be removed at some point? JC 2012-02-29 -->
<docAuthor>edited by Lou Burnard and Syd Bauman</docAuthor>

I think Lou's and Syd's names should be replaced with "TEI Consortium" for the next release after 2.6.0. The same change would have to be made in guidelines-fr.xml.

Agreed. The Citation Rules at http://www.tei-c.org/Guidelines/access.xml specifically say TEI Consortium (and I tend to point it out when I see it mis-cited).

(No offense intended to Lou and Syd meant of course.)

we actually say on the title page

    by the TEI Consortium
    edited by Burnard and Bauman

where that "by" is a <byline rend="large">by the TEI Consortium</byline> which
is pretty weird. we could drop the byline, moved TEI Consortium to <docAuthor> and move B & B to another <note> to make sure their work is recorded.

It's actually in obvious conflict with what the citation rules say explicitly. I'd suggest to treat it as an unfortunate glitch, persisting for so long due to well-understood respect for Lou and Syd. But I'm rather sure that they themselves wouldn't hesitate for a second before removing it, because just like LB&CMSMCQ was true of some stage of the Guidelines, LB&SB was of another, and currently it's actually unfair towards the other contributors to use only two names, and those closest in the status to editors are the Council members (but that wouldn't be fair either as far as authorship is concerned).

Well, "authored by the TEI-C, edited by the TEI Council"... not so bad, hm?

At rev 12861 I've changed the first reference to the TEI Consortium from <titlePart> to <docAuthor>, reduced the size of the note mentioning ALLC-ACH-ACL, and removed the docAuthor containing me and Syd
