Understanding the software options may not be the best way to understand the general problem of termination criteria for tractography. The options available in Teem are probably more general than what is described in any given tractography paper. You could start by reading papers or book chapters about tractography, and seeing if the termination criteria described are among those supported. The list in ten.h does have some documentation: tenFiberStopAniso, /* 1: specified aniso got below specified level */ tenFiberStopLength, /* 2: fiber length in world space got too long */ tenFiberStopNumSteps, /* 3: took too many steps along fiber */ tenFiberStopConfidence, /* 4: tensor "confidence" value went too low */ tenFiberStopRadius, /* 5: radius of curvature got too small */ tenFiberStopBounds, /* 6: fiber position stepped outside volume */ tenFiberStopFraction, /* 7: during multi-tensor tracking, fractional constituency of the tracked tensor got too small */ tenFiberStopStub, /* 8: treat single vertex fibers as non- starters */ tenFiberStopMinLength, /* 9: fibers with total (both halves) small length are discarded */ tenFiberStopMinNumSteps, /* 10: fibers with total (both halves) small # steps are discarded (more general-purpose than tenFiberStopStub) */ "Confidence" is the first of the seven values stored per tensor in ten's tensor array layout; it can be used to store something like a binary mask to represent the confidence in the estimated tensor values. tenFiberStopFraction is not relevant to standard tensor-based tractography. The tenFiberStopStub, tenFiberStopMinLength, and tenFiberStopMinNumSteps are not termination criteria exactly, but path rejection criteria in the context of tenFiberMultiTrace(). As is often the case, the source is the most reliable source of information.
