I wouldn't even need a TIP for this ;-) Well, I'll wait a while for other's comments. If a "core-8-for-xp" would work for you, that would be fine with me. The advantage: All xp-specific changes are clearly documented. Any company (like Evolane) which want to support XP on Tcl 8.7 can do so, and has an easy way to submit bug-fixes back to the core.
