(The bigger the bite, the more difficult it is to chew.) I think _most_ of the conversation has been fair feedback on the TIP - proposing alternatives or enhancements. Right now the immediate proposal is defined by TIP #405. I am under the impression that the only uncertainty in this TIP is whether [dict map] does/should transform dict->dict or dict->list. The 'tip-405-impl-td' branch contains the TIP #405 implementation as specified and nothing else. Any experimental development on alternatives will happen on a different branch. > Let's not change the behaviour of [continue] and [break] in this TIP. > That'd be a very subtle thing to get right, and will *guarantee* that I > kick this out of the 8.6 track. Agreed. It's not on the cards for this TIP. I see no justification for changing the behaviour of continue/break in one specific loop (i.e. [lmap]); changing their behaviour in all loops would supercede the functionality of TIP #405 but would be done as its own TIP (not a change to #405). Break/continue out of nested loops is definitely outside the the scope of this TIP. Regards, Twylite |
