Bugs item #931823, was opened at 2004-04-08 11:51 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110894&aid=931823&group_id=10894 Category: 36. File System Group: development: 8.5a2 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Don Porter (dgp) Assigned to: Vince Darley (vincentdarley) Summary: Tcl_FSPathSeparator() inconsistency Initial Comment: If a Tcl_Filesystem does not define a Tcl_FSFilesystemSeparatorProc then all internal parts of the core forgive that and assume a separator of "/" for the filesystem. That seems fine. However, the result of Tcl_FSPathSeparator() on a path in such a filesystem does not agree. It will return NULL, which accurately reflects that the filesystem has left its separator undefined, but doesn't accurately reflect what the core will use as a separator on that path. I think it would be better for Tcl_FSPathSeparator() to fill in the "/" default. A nice side effect is that this would make the definition of a Tcl_FSFilesystemSeparatorProc truly optional for most filesystems. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110894&aid=931823&group_id=10894 |
