Dict Object Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Christian Nassau (cnassau) Assigned to: Donal K. Fellows (dkf) Summary: clarify/change [dict set] specification Initial Comment: Hi, I would like to suggest that the specification of "dict set" should be clearer with regard to missing sub-dictionaries: the question is what dict set dictVar $k1 $k2 ... $kn $value should do if the sub-dictionary for the key sequence $k1, ..., $k{n-1} does not yet exist in $dictVar. I suggest that such sub-dictionaries are silently created as needed. (A recent related discussion can be found on the Tcl'ers Wiki page for the dict command.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Donal K.
