Bugs item #602680, was opened at 2002-08-30 19:00 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112997&aid=602680&group_id=12997 Category: 85. Unix Build Group: 8.4b3 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Submitted By: Don Porter (dgp) Assigned to: Mo DeJong (mdejong) Summary: AIX: incomplete TK_LIB_SPEC Initial Comment: Using all configuration defaults for both Tcl and Tk on an AIX system, the tkConfig.sh file contains: # String to pass to linker to pick up the Tk library from its # installed directory. TK_LIB_SPEC='-bI:/sci-apps/nist/donahue/lib/libtk8.4${DBGX}.exp' This looks like a mistake to me, because the name of the library (export file) that was built and installed by Tk is not fully specified. It remains contingent on the value of DBGX. Now, Tk had some value of DBGX in effect when it built and installed the actual Tk library file, and extensions building on Tk need to know what that actual Tk library file name is so they can add the right options to their linker calls. That fully substituted library file name should be recorded in tkConfig.sh instead of one containing the literal ${DBGX}. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112997&aid=602680&group_id=12997 |
