Right, well I wonder if background image support might not be more useful if added to [text] and [canvas]. Then a canvas could be used to achieve= the=20 same thing. Richard Hipp implemented bgimage for his [html] widget (and = I=20 extended it to support table regions) so at least I know this to be=20 technically feasible.
