When TIP 241 was announced I sent a question about the action of [lsort -nocase] and never got an answer (one reply, but no answer) Joe English raised the same point: http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/tcl-core/2593380 The sort order for [lsort -nocase] really needs to be specified before it can be incorporated into the Tcl language! What will be the result of lsort -nocase -ascii {A Z a z \[ \\ \] _ ~ |} By observation, [lsort -dictionary], sorts all the letters after the [ \ ] and _ characters. If that is the intended action, then it should be specified. (And [lsort -dictionary] should also be so documented.) What about non-ascii [lsort -nocase]? -- Donald Arseneau as...@tr... |
