I observed this on 3 different machines -- with X-servers being
    Xaccel-3.0, Xaccel-5.0.3 and
    XFree86 running FreeBSD 3.4 and 4.0.

ReproducibleScript:
I tried to come up with a script, but the bug is quite elusive :( The only time it reproduces reliably
is when I use Postilion mailer... So debugging it will be somewhat involved );

You'll need to install the postilion from http://www.postilion.org/ . Once it is installed,
create /usr/local/lib/postilion/postilionrc and put the following line into it:

AddFont koi8-r 14 {} -cronyx-fixed-medium-r-normal--20-200-75-75-c-100-koi8-r

Start postilion and ensure that Info->Preferences->General->CharacterSize is set to 14...

Then -- try to read an e-mail in KOI8 encoding (I can send one, when you are ready, with
the description of how the text should look like by means of xwd(1)).

ObservedBehavior:
All of the characters from ASCII half of the table look fine, but the Cyrillic ones appear as so they
are displayed using a similar (in sizes), but different font.

The part of Postilion that displays the message's body is fairly simple, and I tried reproducing
the bug in a simpler script, but failed...

The tk83 has the same problem as 8.2.3.

DesiredBehavior:
I'd blame this on something Postilion does, but the postilion using tk80 displays properly (with the same
config files, on the same X-server).

Possibly fixed by 406411, need to verify (8.3.3/8.4a3).
