Most of Taurus code uses a custom convention for docstrings. And a few of it uses the standard, more dense rst conventions.
A custom sphinx preprocessor converts the custom docstrings to standard rst code when compiling docs.
This preprocessor is not robust enough and tends to break. Also the syntax it supports is not standard.
I propose to switch to google style notation which can then be supported by a more standard sphinx preprocessor (napoleon), which is used by default on RTD:
