During editing task notes, very often the editing becomes impossible, the text box becomes read-only. After it happens, even the quick filter textbox cannot accept any character from the keyboard. The program has to be re-started to be able to edit text again. It is very annoying.

Ubuntu 14.04, Java 7, TU 4.2.1
(works fine on Linux Mint 13, TU 4.2.1)

    Hints for reproducing it:
After start of typing the task note, switch to other window and back 2-3 times and resume typing. A few characters get displayed, the CPU will be overloaded, 1-2 additional characters appear but no more.

    You mentionned:

    Ubuntu 14.04, Java 7, TU 4.2.1
(works fine on Linux Mint 13, TU 4.2.1)

What's the difference between these two releases ?
Are you using Gnome on both ? Same version of Java ?

Up to a few weeks ago I used Linux Mint 13 with Xfce, I do not know which Java was active, I guess I had both 6 and 7 installed (?). That notebook is not anymore with me.

Since then I use a PC with Ubuntu 14.04 (with Unity) and Java 7, everything up-to-date. For a few days I have not faced the problem, bit it re-appeared today...

Is there any debug switch or log that could help you?

    Maybe it helps you further:

I think you can forget about what I said about switching windows.

It seems to have something to do with the date/time inserted using the 'Insert date' button. The edit box freezes very often after inserting the date/time and starting typing.

Right now I have a task, where I copied the date from another task. After I started writing after this date, the edit box freezes. It does not help to restart the software, as soon as I hit space, the edit box is frozen.

    My date settings are:
    Weekday YY-MM-DD

One more thing which may have something in common:
I often notice that typing in a long row causes the shifting/re-formatting of the content of another rows below (though they are not one paragraph).

Well, maybe there will be something in the logs, it's worth checking.
TaskUnifier -> Help -> Get logs.

You can either attach it here or send it by mail.

    Thanks !
