I get this error message every time I synch TaskUnifier.

You tried to add or edit a folder with a name that already exists. I may have edited the name. Since this started I tried to delete the folder - doesn't help. I tried renaming the folder - doesn't help.

Guessing it is a bug, because I haven't found anything else on this.

I deleted all tasks on the ToodleDo website and that solved this issue. However, it created another problem. I now have an:

    Invalid Task ID number

Additionally, on the new sync TaskUnifier is only synching 11 folders instead of the 14 in TU.

    Any thoughts?

How did you delete the tasks on Toodledo ?
Via the delete all button in the settings ?

Normally the easiest is to keep everything on Toodledo, then simply reset TaskUnifier data via Settings -> Synchronization -> Remove all and synchronize, which will reload everything from Toodledo.

I deleted them in ToodleDo. Yes, Delete All Tasks in Settings. Why? Because the only reason I have ToodleDo is TaskUnifier. TaskUnifier has all of my folders, goals, color codes and theme. It also has all of my sub-tasks which ToodleDo (my version = Free Version) doesn't recognize.

I don't always have an internet connection, so I prefer for my main base of work be out of TaskUnifier.

I now have all of the folders, but 0 tasks.

    Thanks for your information!

The problem is that the Delete All option in Toodledo breaks the synchronization, Toodledo saves the operations so TaskUnifier knows when Toodledo updated/added or deleted something, but with the Delete All option Toodledo simply deletes everything so TaskUnifier doesn't know that some tasks have been deleted that's why you face an error.

Do you have a backup from Toodledo ?
If not, you could try in TaskUnifier -> Settings -> Synchronization -> Copy all the tasks, but you will probably have to delete the rest from Toodledo too first (like folders, contexts, goals...)

By the way, don't forget to create a backup at TaskUnifier side, in case of problem.

Thanks for the information. After much thought last night, it became apparent there was no synch from TaskUnifier. It was retrieving data, but not sending. Your information clarifies and confirms my suspicion.

I wish I had time to write a TU Help Book, it is a very useful piece of software. ; -)

I don't have a backup of ToodleDo, because I never use it for work. For me, ToodleDo is the middleman. I stumbled on TaskUnifier at Sourceforge a long time ago and rapidly became a TU fan. Then used ToodleDo to sync to pull items to my phone.

I will try this and let you know what happens.

Yes, I do have backups of TaskUnifier. Thanks!

    UPDATE:
I deleted all Tasks and Folders in ToodleDo. Settings--> Delete Data --> Delete all tasks --> Confirmation -->
Checked --> Yes, permanently delete all of my tasks &
Checked --> Also delete all folders, contexts, goals, locations and saved searches.

I made a backup: Settings --> Backup --> Create new backup --> Typed the new backup name --> OK

In TaskUnifier Pro I do not have: Settings --> Synchronization --> Copy all the tasks

    I did change:
Settings --> Synchronization --> Conflict Choice --> Keep TaskUnifier Version (previously set to default Keep last updated version)

    Sync Result:
TaskUnifier error: Invalid Task ID number: Content (see attached error and code Screen Shot)
(I believe TU stops synching at this point because of this error)
    All of my folders appear
No Tasks (due to previous error)

    Any other thoughts?

Thanks so much for taking the time to help, sometimes, it makes all the difference.

Could you try Push all the local tasks then ?
    Thanks

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by Push all the tasks.

In Synchronization settings -> you scroll down, there is a button "Push all the tasks".

Thanks, that isn't something I've tried.

TaskUnifier --> Settings --> Synchronization --> Scroll down --> Push all the tasks

    Results:
I was able to push my goals and 12 tasks, then I encountered the Error Message: Invalid task ID: Content.

Then, I deleted the tasks from ToodleDo and got the Original error message: You tried to add or edit a folder with a name that already exists.

So, I deleted the Tasks and Folders and then pushed the files.

SUCCESS, finally. I'm not sure what happened initially to create the problem (my) user error I'm sure, but it is now in sync with my phone and I'm back in business.

Thanks so much for all your help! Much appreciated!

When I tried to publish to Google Calendar. I had another error message that I hadn't seen before. An error occurred during the publication of your tasks. I disabled Google Plugin for Tasks and for the Calendar. I then enabled both.

Success. Currently, I have no errors on sync or publication.

Thanks so much for you help!

Things are better than they have EVER been. My goal was to sync to my DGT GTD app. On sync my Jorte Calendar online, Jorte Calendar app, DGT GTD Task App were all synced with TaskUnifier.

Success! Currently, I have no errors on sync or publication. (Knock on wood)

Thanks so much for you help!
