Hi ,
I use taskcoach a long time and few year ago start to have frequently problems with it.
Sometimes, it's freeze , sometimes doesn't update the screen...
Sometimes when I close it , show a popup about some wrong and to look the taskcoach.txt

Today I take a look and there have this message:

settings.py:474: UnicodeWarning: Unicode unequal comparison failed to convert both arguments to Unicode - interpreting them as being unequal

What that's mean?
Is there something I can do to avoid this ?

There is no recent compilation of the product , with updated development tools to release?

Unfortunately, Task Coach development is stagnant. It uses Python2 still and a huge amount of work is required for it to even get to Python3 let alone other maintenance and updates. I still use it myself though. If you know anyone who might be interested in volunteering to help with the code updates, please recruit them to the project.

I don't know about the specific error, maybe Jerome knows something.

You might try renaming the .ini file while Task Coach is closed to see if that helps. https://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1061

Hi, it's a while later but I'm excited to tell you that https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach now has Task Coach updated to Python3! I'm using it myself, and things are working better than ever. Packages are available for some common Linux systems and for Windows (note that it isn't recognized by Windows Smartscreen but can be installed by accepting the warning anyway)

We'd love to have you test the updated program, and post any issues that arise there at GitHub

We won't be continuing with SourceForge, just clearing out old issues and letting people know about the move

    Cheers
