Hi,
i have this problem with the current version (1.4) as i had with all previous versions :
I create task 1. Mark it active (just because i want to see it in blue and black. Active or inactive is irrelevant to my use of Task Coach).
I create Task 2. Mark it active.
And so on. I also create different sub-tasks. Then i start some tasks. Then make manipulations like copy paste a tasks somewhere else in the tree, displace subtasks under a different main task.
And then, i don't understand why, sometimes some tasks i moved are getting gray. Without distinction if started or not. Then i put them back active. But when i close and then re-open TC, they are gray again. I even tried selecting them, go Edit, entered a planed and an effective start date in the past (althought for my use of TC is any start date irrelevant). Then ok it is blue. But next time i close and re-open TC, again the same thing : the tasks are AGAIN inactive. :( I don't understand, it's like TC won't save that i marked the tasks ACTIVE. I would like to keep working with TC but this is truly annoying. I will be very thankfull for any help!
We have a number of bugs opened about the whole "marking a task active/inactive"; I'll take a look as soon as I can but I don't have much time right now.
Just to add my voice. That I am facing the same issue. This usually happens for a specific task and its children
Check to see if there is a "Prerequisite" checked for the task. The last time i noticed this issue (task reverting to inactive) it had somehow had a prerequisite added - clearing this fix the issue
Hi, it's many years later, and I'm excited to tell you that https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach now has Task Coach updated to Python3! I'm using it myself, and things are working better than ever. Packages are available for some common Linux systems and for Windows (note that it isn't recognized by Windows Smartscreen but can be installed by accepting the warning anyway)
We'd love to have you test the updated program, and post any issues that arise there at GitHub
We won't be continuing with SourceForge, just clearing out old issues and letting people know about the move
Cheers
