#441 Portable: takscoach dosen't start anymore

dear taskcoach team,

my portable, latest win version of taskcoach dosent start anymore. for a few seconds the tascoach.exe is displayed in the taskmanager - but the tool don't start and taskcoach.exe get lost from the task manager.

please - can you help?

thanks for replay. i deleted in TaskCoachPortable\Data\settings

TaskCoach.ini
TaskCoachPortableSettings.ini

and start taskcoach again. the tool don't start but created the two deleted files new. any ideas?

In the "regular" version, there's an executable called taskcoach_console.exe in the installation directory that you can launch from a console window; I'm not sure the portable version has it. If it does, could you try it ? It will probably display an error message in the console, which will explain what's going on.

i found the taskcoach_console.exe and started it via cmd window. this works. so i go back and try to start the TaskCoachPortable.exe also in cmd window. startscreen is ok - then nothing.

extra info: i work with the tools since years and have absolutly no idea, why the coach is not starting :(

logfile is there, but datet from 2013, no actual content.

if i try to use the stick on another pc taskcoach works. when i get back and try to restart taskcoach - nothing. maybe taskcoaches saves some infos in the local profile?

In theory no, the point of the portable version is to save everything on the USB stick. What obvious differences are there between the 2 PCs ? I'm thinking display language, for example.
