I try to use Taskcoach (under Ubuntu 12.04).
I can't find a way to swich calendar view to a given date. I can
of course scroll the periods shown, but how to quickly display one day
in the past?
Did I overlooked something, or is this a missing feature?

Not possible; the only navigation options are previous period - today - next period.
