is it possible to undo all changes I made in (color) settings?
or even better, is there some default rc file or the likes, with which I
can compare my current mess? :-)

If all you changed was the default values (through the Preferences dialog), simply erasing your TaskCoach.ini file will do the trick; it will be created again with the default values next time you launch Task Coach. Where to find it depends on your operating system; see https://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1061

      Thank you Jérome, that worked.

One thing that I should've asked also, I realised afterwards, is if there is a place where I can find some explanation or documentation on .tsk files?
Getting my tasks together again was not totally self evident.

If you mean the XML schema, nope. The only documentation is the code :)

Actually I meant simply the taskfiles, as in the option eg "Save selected tasks to new taskfile". But I think I figured it out; this option is there so I can make different taskfiles for work, one for the household and one for the weekend for instance? I'll experiment a bit more ;-)

In case still using or want to come back to Task Coach, it's now finally getting updated again but moved to https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach

    Cheers
