#1629 saving is incredibly slow
When I tell task coach to save the current open file the whole programm blocks for about 5 seconds. Over time this got slower and slower, as more task and efforts I added. But still there are not even 100 tasks yet, and the created files are 80kb (.tsk) and 10MB (.tsk.delta) big. So I don't think it can be because of the size of my db.
That slow saving makes the "save after each change"-setting absolutely unusable (it saves when you even only change on digit of the start/end time in the efforts).
I can send you an anonmized db if that would help in any way.

Hi, it's many years later, and sorry nobody responded to this ticket before.
I'm excited to tell you that https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach now has updated Python3 Task Coach codebase! Packages are available for some common Linux systems and we can add more.
We'd love to have you test the updated program
There should be no more problem with this, saving is working well for me anyway, and we already got a fix for one way that saving was doing excessive rebuilding. And other issues that arise should be fixable now that development is restarted!
