This bug was not present in previous TaskCoach versions!
In the "Effort" pane I double-click on an effort. I then edit the text in the effort's description. I click [Close].
The Effort pane is then updated with the following text in the description:
[Edit to change all descriptions]
[Edit to change all descriptions]
The text I typed
... the above is duplicated below but I won't type it here.
If I go back to edit and remove the spurrious stuff it will then show it with:
[Edit to change all descriptions]
The text I typed
The text I typed
The text I typed
I then clean it up and click [Close] again but description will be triplicated again in the Effort pane.
Thanks for fixing this new bug.
Actually this is intended. You're actually editing several efforts at once since you're in aggregation mode. I'll try to find a behavior that is a little less strange.
A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.
If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.
Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'.
Thanks, Task Coach development team
This bug should be fixed in the latest release of Task Coach. Can you please install the latest release of Task Coach and confirm that this bug has indeed been fixed?
Thanks, Task Coach development team

Dear Jérôme,
Please re-open this bug. It's still there in v. 1.3.41.
Thank you!

Nope, doesn't happen to me. Could you explain exactly what you're doing ?
Hi Jérôme,
I'm not entirely sure how to reproduce the bug but here's a way to get
close to reproducing it:
On one day I work on a task. At the end of the day I stop the timer.
The following day I go in the Effort pane. I click once on the previous
day's task to highlight it. Then I click on the clock in the Effort pane
to start the timing. Then, while the clock works, I double click on the
task that added itself in the Today period. When the Multiple Efforts
dialog window opens, it (not very usefully) contains [Edit to change all
descriptions] in the Description field.
Upon closing the dialog, things remain as is. There is no duplication of
[Edit to change all descriptions] as before, though. But I've recently
observed the duplicating behaviour though.
I will notify if I can get the duplicating behaviour to happen again.
Many thanks for all your work,
-Thomas

Hi, it's many years later, and as I close this old resolved ticket (tested, issue not happening to me now), I'm excited to tell you that https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach now has updated Python3 Task Coach codebase! Packages are available for some common Linux systems and we can add more.
We'd love to have you test the updated program
Cheers
