Each time when closing TC, I am told that an error occurred and that the file taskcoachlog.txt has more info. For each TC shutdown, that file contains:

/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/init.py:127: RuntimeWarning: PyOS_InputHook is not available for interactive use of PyGTK
** set_interactive(1)**

First version in which the bug appeared: 1.3.30
Currently used version: 1.3.31 (that version is still missing from the "Milestone" drop-down list)

Environment: Linux Mint 13 (similar to Ubuntu 12.04)

Ooops, milestone just added. You're not the only one to see this warning but it escapes me. Could you try to launch

    python -W error /usr/bin/taskcoach.py

    in a terminal ?

    Same error on Fedora 19 64bit (KDE) for 1.3.30 & 1.3.31
Does not display error if taskcoach.py is run from a terminal and closed.
Tried a few different settings in the KDE menu editor with no solution.

I'm shooting in the dark since I can't reproduce this, but could you try the latest build:

tested with build 6250 - same error when closing application when started from KDE menu. Does not give error when running taskcoach.py from terminal then closing. Maybe it's specific to KDE. I tested on a Fedora 18 VM with Cinnamon desktop which is based on GNOME - no error. Upgrading VM to Fedora 19 and will run another test using Cinnamon desktop.

I tested with build 6250 and had exactly the same error as in 1.3.30 and 1.3.31. My desktop is Linux Mint MATE, so the problem does not seem to be specific to KDE.

With me (same as with Bob), the error does not display if taskcoach.py is closed after having been started with:

    python -W error /usr/bin/taskcoach.py

This command uses Python 2.7.3 here. It is the same version as the one in /usr/bin/python that is used when I start TC via my panel icon. Confusingly, the error only occurs in the latter case.

I think this warning happens when the KDE Python bindings (which are not mandatory) are loaded, so it won't happen on a system where they aren't installed by default. I'm downloading Fedora 19...

I think it's fixed. Could you try rev. 6253 ?

Unfortunately it's all the same for me with rev. 6253.

  • Jérome Laheurte

I give up. I'll just filter this warning out so it doesn't go to taskcoachlog.txt. Please try r6254.

Thank you for your efforts. I confirm that in rev. 6254, in the circumstances described above TaskCoach does not catch the error anymore and does not write it into taskcoachlog.txt any longer. So this bug should be closed.

    Thanks.

A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.

If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.

Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'.
    Thanks, Task Coach development team
