When I set up a reminder, in the drop down menu, you have to click on the hour two numbers beyond the time you want the reminder notification set. This is particularly hard for the minutes of a time, especially if you want 45 minutes (no available later times). However, using the keyboard works. Once the reminder pops up, on the recurring reminders, when you snooze, the snooze time is also added to the next delivery date of the reminder. For example: I set up a daily reminder for 9:00 a.m. Snooze this reminder for 10 minutes. The next day, the reminder pops up at 9:10 a.m. and time is compounded as the daily reminders are snoozed.
The first part (click into the popup in the date picker) is already fixed. For the reminder, I believe it's intentional but I may be wrong. Franck ?
Actually, I had a past discussion with Frank and I remember being very glad that he explained how the snooze worked without changing the regular recurring time. This change is definitely not the intention and is not how things worked before.
I downloaded the latest build and all is fixed except that when you snooze (or even not snooze), the reminders disappear altogether. I tested it with a daily reminder (wish there was an hourly option, especially for testing and wish it defaulted to today instead of tomorrow) and then went back in to the edit screen and the reminder box is no longer selected, but the daily option remains selected. Just thought I'd catch you before a new release.
Right, thanks for posting, but as I said on Yahoo: the hourly and today vs tomorrow are already available as options in the preferences.
We'll look into the other issue.
I did a test and you are correct, doesn't matter the task state.
However, since the recurring reminders are disappearing. When I choose "do not snooze" it automatically changes an active task to an inactive task and it is no longer recurring, yet the recurrence setting remains, but the date/time box is now unchecked and therefore no reminder the next day.
I still want the task to be active, just don't want to be reminded again at the moment, but I want to be reminded the next day/week/month, etc.
Works fine for me. Of course if you snooze the reminder in the task editor will show the next time it will fire; and if you don't snooze it will show a disabled reminder; after all you don't want to be reminded. But when you mark the task completed, it reverts back to the original value.
This bug should be fixed in the latest release of Task Coach. Can you please install the latest release of Task Coach and confirm that this bug has indeed been fixed?
Thanks, Task Coach development team
I use daily/weekly/monthly reminders very heavily and they are not working as they did. When I set up a daily "recurring" reminder at 11:00 a.m., it will fire at that time on the date I asked it to, but it will not do it the next day or the next when I hit "do not snooze" even though I've chosen it to remind me daily. In order for me to have it fire at the same time each day I have to hit "snooze for 24 hours" which puts the correct date in the edit screen or I can hit "do not snooze" and then I have to go back into the edit screen and create a new reminder for the next day, even though "daily" occurrence is still checked. The reminders are sort of working, just not the recurring portion.
Do you mark the task complete at some time, so it actually recurs ?
I re-created all of my reminders and now it works. I feel like mine were stuck in limbo somehow. Thanks for fixing it.

The file format was changed (don't remember when) to allow the return-to-actual-reminder behavior and the implicit conversion to the new format may have gone wrong. Closing this!
Can this be re-opened? I'm on the latest 1.4.3 and this still happens. Clicking "snooze" adds the snooze time to the saved task reminder time.
Re-opening to investigate report of recurring bug
oops wrong paste… meant to paste this:
Hi! Happy to be announcing, all these years later, that Task Coach is now updated to Python3 and development is finally active again, thanks to new volunteers. The project has now moved to https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach
I'm using it myself, and things are working better than ever. Packages are available for some common Linux systems and for Windows (note that it isn't recognized by Windows Smartscreen but can be installed by accepting the warning anyway)
We'd love to have you test the updated program, and post any issues that arise there at GitHub. We won't be continuing with SourceForge, just clearing out old issues and letting people know about the move.
Also notice that the in-program "check for updates" just goes to the GitHub link, it no longer will automatically alert you about updates. To get alerts at this time, you'll need to "watch" the releases at GitHub.
Cheers
