With interrim build 5988 an old bug which was fixed last July has reappeared. I have only one active task, but the context menu viewed after clicking on the TaskCoach icon in the system tray shows the option "Stop tracking multiple tasks" instead of the correct "Stop tracking [particular task name]".
I'm unable to reproduce this, though I can see where it could come from. Have you a step-by-step way of getting to this ?
>> Have you a step-by-step way of getting to this ?
I merely start Task Coach. I get it for free! But you don’t see it? Hmm.
If I click on “Stop tracking multiple tasks”, then it stops the current task (“Monthly time reporting”), and the system tray icon shows a quiescent state. If I right-click on the system tray icon, now it displays the option “Stop tracking Monthly time reporting”. I can click on it n times, and it continues to display the same option. So apparently Task Coach keeps a record somewhere of tasks currently monitored, but a final entry is not getting eliminated?
When I close Task Coach and restart it, it now shows in the context menu “Resume tracking Monthly time reporting”. I resume, and it now shows “Stop tracking multiple tasks” again… If I select it, Task Coach goes quiescent, and once again displays the option “Stop tracking Monthly time reporting” instead of “Resume…”.
If I delete the second occurrence of “Monthly time reporting”, the context menu then correctly displays “Resume tracking Monthly time reporting”.
If on startup (either immediately if I left a task active on shutdown, or else after starting to track an effort after startup) I explicitly edit the task effort and check the “Stop” checkbox, and then immediately uncheck it, then close the edit window, the context menu correctly displays “Stop tracking Monthly time reporting”. If I select “Stop…”, and subsequently select “Resume…”, the context menu then reverts to its bad behavior and shows “Stop tracking multiple tasks”.

Got it. I can reproduce only by starting Task Coach while a task is tracked.
A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.
If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.
Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'.
Thanks, Task Coach development team
This has begun to happen again on build 6019.
It has been running fine up until a few minutes ago.
Upon closing Task Coach the problem seemed to clear up, but after starting an effort, it falls back into this bug, and clicking "Stop tracking multiple tasks" does not fix it. However, it did change the context menu option to "Stop tracking Monthly time reporting"; the problem is that nothing is active; it should say "Resume...".
I am downloading build 6033 to see how that may go.
Nope. After starting, stopping, restarting, and then stopping a task, the "Stop tracking multiple tasks" option shows up again... :(
Can't reproduce this on XP, Seven or OS X. Could you attach a copy of your TaskCoach.ini file as well as your anonymized task file please ?
I have attached an anonymized task file with the config file. Thank you.

I downloaded and installed the latest build (6035) just to see if anything had changed yet, and I guess not...
I started Task Coach. I then stopped, started, and re-stopped the current effort. Then I started tracking a different task. Now it displayed "Stop tracking multiple tasks"; after selecting that, it then displayed "Stop tracking [last task tracked]", as originally reported above.
Oops, I didn't see that my post was on the second page, and kept re-posting...

I can (kind of, it's random) reproduce it with your task file; should be able to fix it soon.
OK, I think I nailed it this time; could you try the latest build ?
Jérôme, that does appear to fix it. I tried several different sequences to verify it, and it behaved correctly each time.
Hope it sticks this time. Thanks!
This bug should be fixed in the latest release of Task Coach. Can you please install the latest release of Task Coach and confirm that this bug has indeed been fixed?
Thanks, Task Coach development team
This has worked since 1.3.23.6040, as noted above. I just downloaded 6053; it worked. Then I realized that 1.3.24 was available. I installed it, and it appears still to be working! Thanks!
