The newest version is 1.3.23.5993 now, 5960 is 33 commits old. For reference, whatever is 1.3.99 is not always the latest version. It is a place where we put new features being tested, but sometimes bug fixes are made to the main bugfix or full release and are not included in the 1.3.99 version. Please try the latest regular version with 1.3.23
Cheers,
Aaron

There is another fix for this, in r5971, included in 1.3.99.x starting with r5973. If you're not using the multi-user feature, please consider using the stable, official release now (1.3.23).

I have had to change the Region and Language --> Format setting from
English (New Zealand) to English (United Kingdom).
Once I had done this the editor worked. If I swap back then it stops working.
This has the unfortunate side effect of changing the currency sign
from a $ to a pound sign in excel.
Short date is set to dd/MM/yy.
Am having trouble posting replies at sourceforge. I have posted a
number of times and they seem to go through from this end but never
appear at sourceforge.

Don't know what to say about SourceForge. Let us know if you keep having problems. But you could even post a bug for Allura if you can explain what's happening. See https://sourceforge.net/p/allura/tickets/

Could you try the latest revision ? We didn't merge for some time, I just did it.
Hi Jerome,
Had trouble downloading the update as the site was not reachable.
Have downloaded 1.3.99.5931, the editor is still not working for me on this release.
Software indicates that a log file with errors is being created but I am unable to find it.
I have attached my .ini file and task file. for you.
Regards
Les
Here is the other file.
The latest release is 5940 by the way, but it is in the bugfix list that is 1.3.22.5940 instead of the 1.3.99 section.
See http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest.py
See if it is then fixed. Also, the error log is here:
http://answers.launchpad.net/taskcoach/+faq/1824
assuming you are on windows as this report indicates
Cheers,
Aaron
Hi Jerome & Aaron,
Have tried the latest 1.3.22.5940 still get the error.
Thanks to the link above I have found the .log file which I have attached.
Les
Could you check how your short dates are supposed to be formatted (that's in the Regional and language settings in the control panel) ?
Hi Jerome,
Yes , the setting that I have is dd-MM-yy.
Have just tried TaskCoach-1.3.22.5960 still get the same error.
However, resetting to TaskCoach-1.3.99.5776-win32 removes the error.
Have removed TaskCoach completely, but still end up with the error.
Thanks
Les

1.3.99.xx is the package series from trunk (future 1.4) so it's more complicated than just chronology :)

Hi Arron,
Have the short date set to dd/MM/yy and have tried dd/MM/yyyy but both
give the same error result.
Have upgraded to TaskCoach-1.3.23.6004-win32 with same result.
Get the same result on my Win7 starter 32bit netbook as well. New Task file.
Is there anything else I can send you.

Hi Aaron,
I am downloading 1.3.23 now and will uninstall and install this and
open a new task file before attempting to open existing file.
Thanks again.

Hi Jérome,
Have installed 1.3.24.
Still cannot use the NZ location.
Using UK location is not affected by the format of the short date setting.
