The e-mail drag end drop functionality does not work as described in the help and manual. Dragging an e-mail into Task Coach creates a new task with title "Mail.app message" and nothing else.
A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.
Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'.
Thanks, Task Coach development team

1) I have tested the fixwd version. I am not sure if it works as intended.
A task is created with the e-mail subject as task subject.
The description field is empty (According to my interpretation of the hel it should contain the body of the e-mail)
An attachment is generated. It has the e-mail subject, location field is (e.g.): "message:%3C/p/taskcoach/bugs/1342/96fbca2b7058d8a5807563895f8e5aced60c1386.bugs@taskcoach.p.sourceforge.net%3E" and the description field is empty.
The entire operation takes 22 seconds. Window with "reading e-mail information, please wait".
2) Sorry I overlooked the attachment. It was there, but with an incorrect subject and an empty description.

This is the intended behavior. Getting the subject was previously disabled because it takes too long; I added the progress dialog so that the user knows it's not stuck, and can cancel it. I don't even know how to get the mail's body so the description will stay empty.

Hi, it's many years later, and as I close this old resolved ticket, I'm excited to tell you that https://github.com/taskcoach/taskcoach now has updated Python3 Task Coach codebase! Packages are available for some common Linux systems and we can add more, with other OS's to come later potentially
Cheers

Doesn't it create an attachment to the task that when opened opens the message?
No.
Duplicate of https://sourceforge.net/p/taskcoach/bugs/1003/
Yes, it seems to be the same bug.
Not quite; in #1003 the attachment is created. It works for me on OS X 10.8.2 with Mail.app 6.2; unfortunately I don't have a Lion install any more...

If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.

Are you sure the attachment is not created ? It even works for me on OS X 10.5.8 and Mail.app 3.6...
