There seem to be some issues with this new date picker.
If your current date is in January and you navigate back a month to December, notice that December 31st is missing. See screenshot.
The usability of the new date/time control is causing me great frustration. You are almost always forced to use the mouse, when I usually type in the date. Typing 01 arrow key 03 arrow key 2012 is not intuitive and it not the standard way of entering a date. Same goes for selecting a time.
The addition of customizable toolbar is a great enhancement to the application, but effort entry has taken a step backwards with the changes to the date/time entry controls.
Thanks for a great tool and hopefully these issues can be resolved soon.
It appears my attachment did not save.
The calendar thing is weird, so yes that's a bug.
The new control is BETTER for typing by far. You don't need the arrow key. You can use "." (period) which is much easier. But we didn't document this clearly, sorry. So you should use ONLY the arrows (which then work to pick date/time with up/down and move with left/right) OR ONLY the numbers and then use . to move.
Cheers,
Aaron

Thanks for looking into this. I would also add "/" as a means of advancing through the date. Also when the control is expanded, you are unable to type in the date For example, I want to change the day from 3rd to the 22nd. When I click on the day, the calendar drops down preventing me from typing 22.
Ah yes, that is a bug then. It works on my Mac, tested just now: I can still type even though the calendar is showing. But we'll look into this.
And / is a fine idea, that should be doable.
Cheers
The problem is that "/" should already work, at least in the date, and "." and ":" in the time. So two bugs here: the calendar focus and the "/" separator; I'll test them on Windows.
Just confirmed on my Linux system:
":" does not work with the time. I have never had that work on Mac or Linux. I didn't even mention it because when I brought it up and you suggested ".", I was satisfied and also assumed that there must have been some reason to leave ":" out. I didn't consider that it was only a bug that it didn't work.
"/" worked correctly for the date on my Linux system just now.
Forgot the 3rd bug: the 31st not showing.
Okay, all fixed. You can download a build at http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest.py (in the "Bug fixes" section) if you want to confirm.
This bug should be fixed in the latest release of Task Coach. Can you please install the latest release of Task Coach and confirm that this bug has indeed been fixed?
Thanks, Task Coach development team
