Apart from the fact that the performance is low in general, there seems to be a problem during startup.
The startup needs several MINUTES. Some might think the system broke (issue 302 eg.).
When checking the process with process hacker it can be seen, that the program loads, has one high disk-IO then runs a long time with 100% CPU (25% on a 4-core processor), while nothing happens on the UI. After this the UI is updated, the CPU-load goes down and everything is a usual.
Just the performance is not exciting (4 Core proc, 8 GB RAM, win 7/64).
Hi,
We've had some issues with the calendar viewer and the task square viewer and such. Try closing your calendar viewer and see if things improve. Otherwise, try closing the task square viewer.
Let us know the result. We will otherwise try to look at your files and see what we can do.
Thank you for your thorough report and your patience.
Cheers,
Aaron
Hi Aaron,
it was exactly the calendar viewer (CV).
When I closed the CV then shut down and restarted, TC was there immediately with no delay.
When I again opened the CV then shut down and restarted again, TC took again about 5 minutes to come up.
So this seems to be the issue.
I have attached the Threads list when the problem occurs, maybe this helps.
From the endthreadx Modules are always 2 active but sometimes one is terminated but a new one started at the same time.
Let me know if I could be of further help
Thanks and best regards,
Kurt

Could you try the latest build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest.py ("Bug fixes" section) ?
I just tried the latest and the calendar still adds a lot of slowness. Completing a task in the task viewer causes hanging if I have a calendar viewer open in another tab. Closing the calendar viewer solves it, although it is still less than instant and snappy.
Yes, this build should only improve startup time. Does it ?
Yes, appears so. Startup was just slightly slower with calendar viewer, by maybe a second. Not a big difference and not extremely slow.
