#1044 New Task's Start Date Inactive

No

With the new release 1.3.0, whenever I add a task by using the Insert key or menu item, the start date is current and active (checkbox set) while the edit window is open, but as soon as I save it (button "close") the start date is still there (which is good) no longer active (checkbox unchecked, which is bad).
Environment: Windows XP SP3, German language setting, Preferences / Task Dates / Standard start date/time: default, today, current time.
Sometimes, when I create a new task, the edit window won't open, just a new empty task is created.
To my work flow, this is significant inconvenience, because now (with 1.3.0 and the new bug) I have to double check every new task whether it has an active start date. Without start date, the task is inactive, which means that it is very likely to be forgotten.

A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release. You will get another notification when that release is available with the request to install the new release and confirm that your issue has indeed been fixed.

If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.

Because a fix has been made for this bug report, the priority of this report has been lowered to 1 and its resolution has been set to 'Fixed'. Please keep the status of the bug report 'Open' until the next release is available to prevent duplicate bug reports.

    Thanks, Task Coach development team

The bug report mentions Start Date, but the same problem exists with Due Date (it's checked initially, but ignored unless I change the date or uncheck and recheck check box).

Does the fix set for the next release cover all the dates?

@bjherbison I think it works correctly for all date types (start, due, completion, reminder) but you can test it yourself by downloading and installing a daily build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py.

    Cheers, Frank

Yes, all dates are handled with the test build -- now I see new tasks and I've lost one excuse for avoiding tasks.
