We cannot avoid this, because it happens on Alt-down, and at that time we do not yet know whether an Alt-drag will take place.
However, we can send a second Alt keypress to the application to deactivate the menu again. (If the first press did nothing, the second is unlikely to do any harm either. If it did something else than activating the menu, hopefully it won't hurt too much if we do that a second time.)
