And suddenly there was code

Yes, it's taken a while, but we've finally moved the remaining client to the new code base, and we're in the process of cleaning the code before it is released.

However, we know that there's still a lot of work to do, so we've decided to start releasing individual files as they are ready, instead of waiting for the entire code to be complete before releasing it.

If you check our svn repository, you'll see the first file to be released, and more should appear pretty soon.... read more

Update on Sytadel source code

Well, its been almost a year since we announced this project, and no source code, so what's the deal?

Sytadel has been used in enterprise production environments for almost 9 years now, and is critical infrastructure for most organisations running it. As part of the open source release, it was important for us not to release any source code that would either highlight potential security issues, or would contain any references to confidential information or any intellectual property that we did not have permission to release. We did not have to obtain approval, as the code has officially been open sourced, but we felt that it was the right thing to do for everyone concerned, to hold it back until everyone was happy. All clients have already given us an initial verbal reply that they agree, pending due diligence on the code itself.... read more

Sytadel 4 released as open source

Synop's Sytadel web content management system (CMS) was released as open source on 4th May 2009. Sytadel currently runs in production at several large organisations, and the open source release has begun to increase that number.

Over the coming months, we will be releasing the last official Synop version of Sytadel as at mid-2005, and we'll be following that up with more recent inhouse and customer versions of Sytadel 4 and Sytadel 5.... read more
