    Hello,

you can use Synkron on external drives. To make it work you will need to follow these steps:

After installing Synkron to your external drive, create an empty file named "Synkron.ini" in the folder where you have installed Synkron. Synkron will use this file for storing internal settings.

You will need to change the path of the folder where Synkron stores temporary files (backed up files that were deleted or overwritten during synchronisations) to a folder that exists or can be created on all computers Synkron is going to be used on. To change this path, open Synkron and in the menu Options in menu bar click on "Change temporary folder path" and enter a new path for storing backed up files (e.g. "C:/Synkron-temp"). If you don't want Synkron to back up deleted and overwritten files, check the option "Do not backup update files" in Advanced menu in your sync tabs.

    Hope it helps,
    Matus

I installed a Synkron portable from http://portableapps.com/node/21036 in a DropBox folder and it worked. For the dropbox usage it would be useful to group the Syncs to locations: Work, Home. At Home I have other directories than in the job.
