Hi, I saw on the wiki[1] that you are interested in making the synfig GUI more compliant to the GNOME user interface guidelines. It would be great if you could attach any patches you have made to the bug on sf.net[2]. Also, here is some info from IRC about this topic. <SnapSilverlight> Got someone on the wiki wanting to work on the UI, apparently. <SnapSilverlight> http://wiki.synfig.com/Talk:Software_roadmap <darco> whoah <SnapSilverlight> ...I have no idea whether that's actual code, or Inkscape mockups, but it looks nice! :D <darco> I've been meaning to change how that whole dialog works all together, because it's very obtuse to use when you are trying to resize <darco> it does look nice <darco> but it's effectively the same thing in a different package <darco> how it works needs to be changed <SnapSilverlight> Well. I imagine it's laid out the same way 'cause no-one quite understands how it works? :) <darco> yeah <darco> not even my animators could use it very well... <darco> only me and adrian were able to know how to use it very well <darco> yeah, the whole dialog is bad news <darco> probably one of the first things that should be re-written completely <SnapSilverlight> Rrr. And I can't mess with it 'cause Synfig didn't build correctly for some reason when I upgraded my compiler. :P *waits for rebuild* <darco> What needs to be done is to analize the use cases... It might even be appropriate to have two dialogs, like photoshop has: One for crop, and one for resizing. Trying to throw them all into the same dialog is bad. heh. <darco> live and learn 1. http://wiki.synfig.com/Talk:Software_roadmap 2. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=3Ddetail&aid=3D141199= 2&group_id=3D144022&atid=3D757416 --=20 bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise |
