I’ve come across stuff for truckers a few times that’s basically winter gear. And I always wondered what it’s for, if the guy spends almost all his time in the cab, and it’s supposed to be warm in there.

I feel like it’s still not warm enough that you could hop in wearing shorts and drive off. Plus, I don’t know, but I think they still stop a lot, get out, maybe do loading and unloading and so on. Or check that everything’s okay with the truck.

It’s warm behind the wheel, but it’s really cold outside. Like people already said, loading, unloading, and checking the truck all happen out in the freezing cold, and that’s exactly where you need warm clothes, a reflective vest, and a full set of easy winter truck cab accessories. By the way, if a driver stops for the night and has nowhere to lie down and sleep, so he stays in the cab, it’s cold in there. If you leave the heat on all night, you’ll burn through your fuel. So things like thermal blankets and heaters come in handy here too.
