#286 MacOS: CIOLIB initialization failed!

Seems most recent versions, maybe anything past 1.7(?), has this error and does not launch on my MacOS Apple SIlicon system. I keep trying, they do not work.

When trying to lauch the binary itself directly from a terminal I get: CIOLIB initialization failed!

Update, forcing to Quartz mode (windowed or fullscreen) works, it seems it is some SDL issue. I do have SDL installed via homebrew, is there a version or config conflict?

Possibly, but Quartz should be the default unless you've explicitly overridden it in Program Settings → Video Output Mode.
