This problem showed up under v1.1b but has persisted into v1.1 release. No idea what might have triggered this. I can still upload if I select ALT-Z and then U but a simple ALT-U no longer does anything.
Is there a settings file or registry entry I can clear to correct this or is this an actual bug in the program?

It sounds like a bug... is it still present in a 1.2b build?
I tried v1.2b with the same results. I also tried renaming the files in the APPDATA folder. No change. I don't know if there is stuff in the registry or not so don't know where to look for anything there...
The "bug" in my opinion is simply that the command got buggered somehow. It doesn't seem to matter what version I run. It's loading config data from somewhere and that command is buggered. All versions seem to treat it the same. Just need to know where it's saving that stuff and I could unbugger it.
The old v1.1b that's on my laptop is fine. Updated it to 1.2b and that's fine on the laptop as well. Has to be a setting hiding somewhere.

Bugs:
#110Settings are only stored in the SyncTERM directory (syncterm.ini and syncterm.lst). See the "File Locations" in the Settings panel for exact paths.
There are some output modes where ALT won't work at all, but you indicate ALT-Z works, and that you're using SDL mode, so that's not it.
The contents of the [SyncTERM] section of the ini file and the entry from the .lst file (with usernames and passwords removed) could be helpful.
Hello Stephen,
I did a quote at the bottom to remind you of this since it's been a while. I downloaded v1.2b and ALT-u does not work but ALT-U does. ALT-D and ALT-d both work. That's progress but maybe an oversight with the lower case u? Possibly still something to do with my setup?
Here are the file contents you requested. Could be moot at this point.

#110New info...I have discovered that ALT-U does indeed work in 1.2b BUT ALT-u does not... I gave incorrect information in my original bug report. I checked 1.1 again and NEITHER U or u work for me.
Sorry this is dragging out so long. Life gets in the way. :( Emailing with Stephen James Hurd also.
I supplied incorrect info in the original bug report. Upon further messing around I have found that ALT-U does indeed work, BUT ALT-u does not (in v1.2b). Neither uppercase or lowercase U works in 1.1. This is on my desktop computer.
I'm making a mess of this. I didn't know emails would post here...

So, looking at the ini file, it's not a SyncTERM setting. One thing I don't see though is a mode selection, are you sure it's SDL mode? It should say in the top-left corner of the main window.
With the mention of APPDATA, it sounds like it's on Windows, and the default for Windows has changed to GDI mode.
I didn't know there were different modes. The top left says GDI. It is running on Win11. Probably would have been good info to have at the start. Sorry.
Should I be in SDL mode and if so how do I make that happen? I use SyncTerm strictly for Telneting into retro BBS's. All I've ever done is download, install, and launch. It just worked. I just had to work out some little things like needing to be in RAW mode to do file transfers.
GDI mode is the default for Windows, so it should work. You can change the mode from the config or the command-line, but I'd rather fix the bug. :D
I expect it should be an easy fix now that I'll look in the right place.
This appears to be working in the currently nightly.
Just downloaded v1.2b from web site. Syncterm file dated 2/18. I confirm it is now working as expected with both upper and lower case. I'll play with it more in the next few days and see if anything else jumps out at me. I suspect I may one of the few who actually uses file transfers in it?
Thanks for figuring it out!
