Turning on large fonts (2560x1600, WinXP/Vista64) causes larger text to push GUI elements outside the program window (which cannot be re-sized), In other words, program settings, such as check boxes/drop downs become hidden.

To replicate:

  1. Vista64 fully patched
  2. go to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization\Adjust Font DPI\DPI scaling - select (144dpi), apply
  3. Execute "Create Synchronicity"
  4. Right click a profile, select schedule. Text and GUI elements cannot be seen. (BUG1)
  5. Click About/Settings, Text elements cannot be seen. (BUG2)

Yep, there's definitely some kind of font trouble!

After running a job of only 6GB and 33K files, all fonts in all other applications on the system were messed up. Some bold, some missing altogether... Mysterious! Then after restarting each application, everything was back to normal for that application. I don't know how these things work, but it smells like there is some kind of font "cache" problem...

@vonankh: What are you talking about? Did you modify your Fonts folder with CS?

No, absolutely not. I didn't modify anything, just copy to different external drive.
But I had a text editor running although minimized and not active. And after restoring the window, the fonts were messed up. Then I started Firefox and there were no fonts at all. I restarted FF and all was well again. Same with editor. There were some others but I can't remember which apps...

Win Vista 32bit Home SP "latest" all updates etc...

I wouldn't worry too much about this. I think it may be related to the too long path name errors I got at that same time. I haven't seen it since.
